The health workforce shortfall carries significant social and economic consequences and many LMICs have felt its pinch for decades as already scarce resources have continued to thin in the face of increasingly complex problems.
To combat the shortage, task shifting, worker pipeline expansion and external partnerships are already underway in many countries. But the work is far from finished, especially with trainee education, local workforce upskilling and adequate preparation for external partners.

A Nigerian native with over a decade of work experience in the US and across several African nations, Dr. Kehinde has led anesthesia, perioperative safety and medical simulation training for different cadres in Kenya, Liberia, Malawi and the US. She has contributed to vaccination policy assessment at the Rwandan Ministry of Health, HIV advocacy work in Uganda and in South Africa, created the vision for ALforHealth, African Leadership Academy’s healthcare network.
The Ramp to Practice Academy is a focused continuation of her previous work. At the Academy, she combines a deep contextual understanding of the LMIC healthcare landscape with strong strategic and analytic acumen, a thoughtful professional and personal network and strong ethics to provide practical and actionable solutions that last.
